Preparation of sulfonated poly (phthalazinone ether ketone ketone) and properties of the composite membranes

Abstract  

Sulfonated poly(phthalazinone ether ketone ketone)s (SPPEKK) with pendent sulfonate groups were synthesized via aromatic nucleophilic substitution and composite membranes have been prepared from SPPEKK and solid inorganic proton conductive BPO4 in situ process. 1H–NMR and FT–IR were used to characterize the structures of the SPPEKK and its composite membranes. The results show that the effects of BPO4 content on mechanical stability, thermo–stability and proton conductivity were investigated. The proton conductivity of the composite membrane was measured to increase to 6.3×10−2S·cm−1(90℃). The conductivity of the composite membrane was improved clearly while holding the better mechanical and thermo property.
