Abstract The present paper reports a new quasicrystal-related Al43.2Cu56.8 phase. It has an orthorhombic structure with space group Fddd and lattice parameters a=0.8166 nm,b=0.9995 nm,c= 1.4149 nm. Note that their parameters satisfy the relative ratios of a:b:c=1:
