Abstract  Rhodamine 6G(R6G),a widely used laser dye,is incorporated at differentconcentrations in silica gels and coatings via the sol-gel process,and its fluorescent proper-ties are studied using a frequency-doubled YAG laser(0.53μm)as the excitation lightsource.C
